Help us manage funds to fight terrorism

The current terrorism threat to the UK and overseas is different to anything we’ve faced before. We need to be in a position to respond to this new and constantly changing threat to protect our communities. At the same time, we need to take into account the current economic climate, and that means finding new ways to operate. This is your opportunity to make a real contribution to the UK’s ability to fight terrorism and keep our citizens safe both at home and abroad.

Salary: £26,323 to £29,222 plus £2,930 location allowance. You will receive £26,323 the band minimum. Progress to the band maximum of £29,222 will be via incremental progression

The National Counter Terrorism Policing Headquarters (NCTPHQ) is the corporate centre for national CT policing. In this key role, you will be working within NCTPHQ Strategic Finance, which manages the funding for the whole network on behalf of the Home Office. It’s an exciting opportunity to use all your skills to provide timely and relevant information that will help us make important decisions about how counter terrorism funding is used. It involves monitoring over £3bn public funding and producing management information for ministers and other high-level parties. You will also provide financial advice to stakeholders across the network, helping them make the most of their resources.

With solid experience in financial management and business planning, you’ll have what to takes to guide all kinds of business decisions. As well as sound technical skills in Excel, Macros and VBA, you’ll have a gift for explaining financial matters clearly, both in person and on paper. Organised and able to help set budgets and create forecasts, you’ll know all about managing risk and ensuring compliance. Now you’re ready to use this expertise for the greater good. A career with NCTPHQ is like no other, with specialist roles spanning the UK and international countries.
