The Database Administrator will be responsible for monitoring, organising and maintaining the databases used across the various systems within the business. These will range from Microsoft SQL, MySQL, and even large datasets contained within Excel spreadsheets. We are looking for a highly organised individual to join our company in an exciting period of growth and change.

This is a busy and varied role that would suit a highly organised and structured individual who is used to completing tasks to strict deadlines.

What you'll be doing


Monitor and analyse database performance


Ensure effective and efficient utilisation of database systems/processes


Implement processes to aid capacity management for the database systems that are supported.


Advise and implement database design and development


Create and advise on complex database queries for various purposes including bespoke reports, data maintenance and database tuning


Manage database security/integrity and backup procedures


Write reports, documentation and operating manuals

You'll be a good fit for this role if you:

Experience of working in an environment where priorities are constantly changing


Experience working with Microsoft SQL

Experience of MySQL

Extensive experience of Excel and Power Query

Sage experience advantageous.

Ability to remain calm under pressure

Salary £40k - £50k depending on experience

Working hours are Monday to Friday 8:30 - 17:30 (office based only)
