Job Title: Commercial Finance Manager

Location: Head Office, Welwyn Garden City

Status: Full Time 37.5 hours, Permanent / Hybrid

Salary: £55,000 - £58,000 p/a

As the Commercial Finance Manager, you will evaluate financial information to assess areas of opportunity to improve profitability and reduce unnecessary costs whilst maintaining quality. You will be able to work seamlessly with stakeholders to translate these opportunities into appropriate and deliverable action plans.

What you will be doing

Provide detailed insight into margins and P&L performance, proactively identifying areas of opportunity for improvement.
Act as a business partner to key stakeholders across the business to support functional heads of departments and their teams to act appropriately on the insights provided.
Design and implement a new credit control process which delivers an improved experience for the customer and more efficient credit collection for the business.
Design and implement a new contract validation process.
Be responsible for Prime Margin results for each product group.
Implement processes and procedures to manage contracts appropriately which fall below pre-set thresholds for Prime Margin.
Assist in the budgeting and forecasting process, taking ownership of the prime margin element of the P&L.
Provide scenario modelling and value-added recommendations as part of commercial decision making on customer pricing and other financial considerations.
Implement, lead and drive continuous improvement projects based on root cause analysis results working cross functionally as appropriate.
Provide business reports and analysis including content for monthly reporting to the Board of Directors.
Lead and manage a small team of direct reports.
Communicate effectively with all relevant stakeholders to achieve positive outcomes for the customer and the business. What we're looking for

ACA/ACCA/CIMA or comparable, qualification
A highly analytical thinker, including advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
Demonstrable experience of transforming financial insights into deliverable business strategy.
Experience of budget setting and forecasting.
Someone skilled at using own judgement, initiative, and ability to overcome obstacles and find creative solutions
An inquisitive personality, keen to build relationships and challenge key stakeholders.
Open-minded and willingness to learn.
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, transformational environment
Experience of leading and developing small teams
Demonstrable ability to balance priorities and workload, delivering output to a high standard.
Excellent communication skills and capable of cross functional business partnering, including with third party associates. What we can offer you
