An innovative SEN Teaching Assistant to work with a vibrant and dedicated Special Educational Needs team at our 11-16 mixed, comprehensive school in Guildford. Students with SEND are educated both in targeted small groups and in their mainstream classroom. You would be working within all subject areas within the school and we are particularly interested in aspiring teachers who would like to gain further experience of working with young people before starting their training.

Role and responsibilities:

The roles and responsibilities of teaching assistants are varied and differ between schools. Your job can include:

getting the classroom ready for lessons
listening to children read, reading to them or telling them stories
helping children who need extra support to complete tasks
helping teachers to plan learning activities and complete records
supporting teachers in managing class behaviour
supervising group activities
looking after children who are upset or have had accidents
clearing away materials and equipment after lessons
helping with outings and sports events
taking part in training
carrying out administrative tasksSummary:

SEN LSA - SEN - Learner Support Assistant - Teaching Assistant
£70 to £80 daily rate (5-day week)

June 22 (one year contract)
