We have an exciting opportunity to join us as a Voice Tutor at The Arden School of Theatre, part of UCEN Manchester on a fixed term (Maternity Cover), full time (37 hours per week) basis.

The Arden School Theatre, part of UCEN Manchester, is a recognised drama school in central Manchester offering degree pathways including Acting, Dance, Musical Theatre, Singing, and Theatre-Making. Based at our brand new city centre campus we offer specialist training for those wishing to pursue a career in the performing arts industry in a friendly and supportive environment.

You will be working with degree students on Theatre and Performance and Vocal Studies and Performance, as well as our other degrees subject to course requirements. You will be required to deliver lessons in voice including practical delivery of the voice for performers, phonetics, and vocal biology.

As a Voice Tutor you will provide supervision of your curriculum area, ensuring that you meet budget, quality and operational targets. You will deliver high quality, learner-focused education providing a secure and friendly environment in order for your students to succeed. In your role you will plan, lead and develop the curriculum area within the establishment to ensure compliance with the national curriculum framework, the integration of functional skills, best practice and quality targets.

In order to do this, you will need:

Subject-specialist qualification at degree level (Level 6) and industry experience in a relevant field is essential for this role.

A teaching qualification is desirable along with a Masters qualification in a relevant discipline.

A demonstrable track record of effective teaching and delivering in the subject specialism
