EYFS Teaching Assistant for a Specialist SEND School in Skelmersdale (Skelmersdale, WN8)

The school caters for children aged 2-11 with learning disabilities including Autism, SLD, Physical and Communicative Difficulties and will also require assistance with personal care.

All the children across the school, work under an adapted EYFS curriculum with structured play a big and basic life skills a big part of the students learning.

The school is based upon values which include the belief that every child should have the opportunity to learn and experience new challenges in a supportive environment through delivering a highly personalised and supportive curriculum. To do this, they need highly supportive and capable teaching assistants to support, encourage and communicate these core values.

The school is looking for strong teaching assistants with a great work ethic and fantastic communication skills to come and work on a full-time basis, initially you will be working through the agency whilst the school organise the paperwork for staff to transition onto school contracts.

Throughout the process, you will be guided and supported by me (Dan) and TeacherActive as we take you through our initial interview and registration process and throughout the temp-to-perm transition if successful with the school. The ideal Teaching Assistant will have:

Experience working/volunteering with children.
Experience with SEND.
Great communication skills.
The initiative, ability and desire to creatively support students in lessons.
The ability to build great relationships with the staff and pupils.
A great work ethic.
