SEN Teaching Assistant - Devizes

Start Date: ASAP

Contract: Long Term, Full Time

Location: Devizes, Wiltshire

Pay: £325-£425 per week

Supply Desk are working in partnership with a special educational needs academy in Devizes, Wiltshire The school are looking for somebody who is passionate about seeing the students develop and wants to make a positive impact on their lives. They cater for mixed pupils aged 11-16 years old with a range of social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs.

The Role:

ü Working 1:1 or with small groups to support learning within the classroom.

ü Supporting children with a range of complex needs including SEMH.

ü Assisting the class teacher in behaviour management.

ü Ensuring that all pupils are on task with the work and provide feedback on progress to Teachers and SENCO.

You Will Need:

ü Experience working with children with additional needs or in an SEN environment.

ü To be patient and flexible with excellent written and oral communication skills.

ü A current DBS check on the update service or be willing to apply for one (Cost of £45)

ü Training or experience in Makaton, PECS or Team Teach (Highly desirable though not essential).
