The purpose of the role is to raise the bar in terms of quality and consistency of all elements of the HSBC Asset Management Active Equity investment process, across the global platform. There will be a number of key elements to the role:
  • Promote a Gold Standard of investment process across the platform, and facilitate consistency where appropriate. Emphasise global connectivity and cross-fertilisation of ideas and best practices between teams.
  • Promotion of key process developments; communication of investment best practice to investment teams across the platform through communication in person, in writing and organisation of forums and seminars to this end.
  • Development, socialising and application of quantitative methods and tools (developed with like-minded people on the platform) to enhance the fundamental active equity process. This will include liaising with the Active Quant team to keep abreast of and where possible leverage work done by them.
  • Support governance activities across the platform - contribute to periodic governance meetings by analysing portfolio construction, portfolio changes, and performance outcomes in the context of the market environment, the "House View" and other strategies managed across the platform to highlight the most relevant areas of focus.

  • Excellent working knowledge of Active Equities which will encompass Governance and Process Enhancement.
  • In-depth knowledge of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) Rules.
  • Must have an awareness of Risk.
  • Strong project management abilities.
  • Knowledge of Equity Quantitative Methods, Investment Portfolio Analytics, and Investment Processes.
  • The ideal candidate will also;
    • Be a strong communicator and have excellent interpersonal skills.
    • Be a self-starter with a 'can do' attitude.
    • Have strong team-working skills.
