The department is formed up of a Vice-Principal who teaches some Computer Science and a Trainee Teacher.
I am recruiting for a Head of a Computer Science Teacher to join a recent Ofsted rated 'Good' school in Brent, North West London for September 2022.
Computer Science and Digital Literacy are growth subjects at the school as they seek to harness the power of emerging technology to be at the forefront of digital learning. As Head of Department, you will lead, develop and manage the effective delivery of an outstanding curriculum which enables the highest level of student progress and attainment in Computer Science; and drive our ambition to become a digitally literate school.
Manage department budget, resources and learning environment
Develop strong partnerships and ensure regular communication with parents
Be accountable for student progress in Computer Science and Digital Literacy across the school at all key stages, ensuring that all students achieve results in line with, or better than, value-added predictions
Model outstanding teaching and lead collaborative planning and development, including the sharing of resources and best practice within the department
Liaise with other department heads on a regular basis to ensure curriculum and learning goals are met across all subject areas and to exploit cross-year and cross curriculum links
Be responsible for maintaining and tracking students progress across the department, analysing all relevant data to make data-driven changes to the curriculum design and intervention strategies and using the data to monitor the performance of subject staff
Teaching KS3-KS5 Computer Science
This is an 8-form secondary school which passionately drive strong discipline, high quality teaching, mastery curriculum, raising aspirations and enrichment, character development and leadership development as their main 6 pillars.
The school have recently moved into their new, bright and airy building, which will feature a new library and a dining hall opening onto a courtyard, along with modern classrooms, a 5-court sports hall and a sixth form common room and study space. Outside, staff and students will benefit from a new all-weather pitch for sports like football, hockey, rugby and cricket and a multi-use games area for sports like basketball, netball and mini-tennis.
