Registered General Nurse | Ebbw Vale, Gwent | 36 - 48 hours per week| £19.50-£20 per hour

Our client has been a privately run purpose-built Care Home since 1989.

The provider and the management team strive to provide a quality of life; based on individual residents' personalities, lifestyles, needs, and wishes in three different communities within the home.

There are three positions available, 2 being for Day Nurses, and 1 being for Night Nurses.

If you have the following, then the answer is yes!

Registered Nurse with current NMC registration
Evidence of continuing professional and clinical development
Fully conversant with the NMC Codes in professional conduct, scope of Professional Practice, standards for administration of Medicine, standards for records and record keeping, confidentiality and exercising accountability
ENB 941 or equivalent
Experience of supervising, appraising, training and coaching a staff team
Practical knowledge and experience or care planning
Computer literate with experience of word-processing/ spreadsheets/databases/e-mail
Post qualification experience in care of the elderly
IT skills and some presentation, facilitation and mentoring skills.
Flexibility as the workload may be unpredictable and possibly prone to interruption
Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills. Robust communication is required to motivate staff and ensure collaborative working.
Minimum of one years' experience generally. 6 months must have been in an MHA setting
Must have successfully achieved MHA induction, probation, mandatory and extended role training, and competencies.
Must have successfully achieved a mentorship programme either externally or from MHA
Must understand the ethos, delivery and assessment of the care practitioner programme and demonstrate experience and commitment to education in practice
Your role as a Registered General Nurse, will include but will not be limited to

Care Management

Act as a clinical expert and advise, guide, and inform colleagues on clinical issues associated with the assessment, planning, delivery, and evaluation of care.
Act as a role model to all colleagues for the promotion and maintenance of standards of care, demonstrating the importance of consent, privacy, dignity, and respect.
Maintain clinical practice through regular clinical updates. Ensure that their own practice reflects current clinical knowledge and evidence demonstrating a high level of skill in care for all MHA support plans, associated forms, and policies.
Assess / re-evaluate the day to day care needs and supervise the delivery of quality nursing care
Apply nursing measures and techniques pertinent to the person's medical diagnosis and treatment
Facilitate the involvement of colleagues and people using our services to ensure that they are engaged in the development and delivery of Practice Development associated policy and actions
Be proactive in dealing with complaints. Where complaints occur report to the manager and carry out / assist in the investigation
Training & Development

Be required to implement, teach and support, Practice Development initiatives, facilitating care practitioners and other colleagues to develop safe, evidence based, effective and person centred clinical practice.
Have responsibility for leading on and implementing a variety of practice development initiatives and generally promote and support innovation in practice
Be expected to be involved in the delivery and development of in-house education resources
Work with senior staff to ensure care practitioner programme learners receive support for the role.

Work collaboratively with managers / deputy managers to increase their own development and 'act up' when required
Have an in depth understanding of Infection Control, Health & Safety, Safeguarding, Mental Capacity, Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards, Duty of Candour, Regulators, Police and Coroner involvement and other legislative processes
Assist with the coordination of the duty rota to ensure adequate cover at all times
Manage Nursing staff during a span of duty and be responsible for their efficient deployment
Carry out nurse competency assessments and identify development needs
Carry out 1:1s, clinical supervision, IPR / appraisals
