Agile Delivery Manager - £60,000 - Agile / Scrum experience working around a SaaS product / team required

I'm on the hunt for an Agile Delivery Manager on behalf of a good SaaS client of mine. You'll be part of a team of 2 / 3 consisting of another Agile Delivery Manager & a Scrum Master. Altogether, you'll be splitting & overseeing 7 Scrum Squads, consisting of QA, Software Engineers - as well as working closely with Product Managers & other areas including infrastructure teams & the wider business

You are responsible for ensuring that the Agile teams are highly productive and operate without blockers, ensuring that they are not distracted from their goal. You will look to continuously focus on evolving Agile methodologies and practices, doing everything possible to help the team function smoothly and deliver at their highest level. The ability to drive ownership within the scrum teams is very important to this client.

Agile Delivery Manager Responsibilities:

  • The key driving force behind continuous improvement in adoption of Agile working practices
  • Act as a coordination hub for key initiatives, managing resourcing, removing impediments, monitoring and communicating progress
  • Facilitator of squad, cross-squad, inter-departmental ceremonies which feed into the SDLC and continuous improvement of Agile practice
  • Act as a coach and mentor in Agile practice across the technical organisation and an ambassador of SCRUM values
  • Work with product owner(s) to understand and refine business requirements and bring new projects into the squad backlog
  • Continued focus on the approach to product backlog refinement, whilst maintaining an Agile approach, that leads to consistent accuracy in achieving timeline and delivery commitments
  • Co-ordinate and report upon the status of key projects which may span across multiple sprints/squads.


With other Agile Delivery Managers:

  • Collaborating on driving best practice across the teams
  • Coordinating cross-cutting initiatives / interdependencies across squads
  • With the Technical Leadership Group (Heads of Software Engineering / Head of Cloud / Infrastructure / Quality Assurance Manager / Head of Product / Product Managers):
  • Facilitating "Scrum of Scrum" sessions and coordinating outcome actions with the aim of driving continual refinement of Agile/development practices and improved collaboration across the team
  • Maintaining a specific focus on the approach to refinement and building increasing levels of confidence and accuracy around the timelines shared with the wider business for key deliverables
  • Co-ordinate key projects which may span across multiple sprints/squads.


With Software / QA Engineers:

  • Drive self-organisation and ownership within the teams,
  • Work with and coach individuals to remove blockers, and escalate where they can't be removed
  • Unite, inspire and motivate them as a wider team in the pursuit of departmental and wider business objectives.


With the Head of Product & Team:

  • To ensure the backlog is healthy and prioritised, ensuring all committed work meets the definition of ready
  • Work with and coach them on Agile practice to ensure healthy collaboration across departments with the wider business


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, similar technical discipline or demonstrable equivalent career experience
  • Experience playing an Agile Delivery Manager / Scrum Master role for at least four years for a development team, ideally in a SaaS environment
  • Able to communicate with, influence and engage senior stakeholders across a matrix organisation
  • Able to work under pressure, at speed to meet deadlines while achieving high quality results
  • Able to lead, inspire and influence others to achieve success
  • Experience of business analysis practices
