Your new company
I've been engaged on an exclusive project to recruit a Senior DevOps Engineer to join one of the UKs leading Financial Services providers, a household name with big investment going into their technology offering in 2022 as part of a digital transformation programme.
This role is offered UK Remote, or with time in their Brighton/London offices - you choose. There is also excellent flexibility in working hours to suit individual preferences.
Your new role
You'll be joining the DevOps team at a Senior level working to enable the Engineering teams to go faster with a commitment to automation. The role is heavily involved with AWS and Terraform and you'll be building the platform that they anticipate their customers need (not being held to deadlines by PM's). There is undoubtedly a commitment to quality over speed.
They are a sustainable, ethical company and the work you do has a genuine social purpose - helping people manage their financial well-being, so it's very rewarding. The team follow the best / most widely followed software practices, so you can be sure the skills you gain here will be transferable and modern. They address technical debt and have a long-term strategy to continuously improve how they work based on a meritocracy and an environment where Engineers are listened to, not dictated to.
You'll help steer more junior developers and will have the option to lead a small team of 2-3 if that interests you. Reporting to the Head of AWS Cloud Engineering in a team that works directly with Amazon Professional Services and that has grown from 8-20 people in the last 6 months, it's an amazing time to be joining.
What you'll need to succeed
Collaboration is key, they want people who don't just write code, but think about its impact and provide active feedback / solutions to the team.
The role is heavily centred around AWS and Terraform, but to be successful you should have a wider appreciation of DevOps / Dev skills such as: IAC, EKS / Kubernetes, Docker, Serverless, Java or JVM frameworks, GO, Node, CloudFormation.
Ideally you'll have some knowledge of Security, Networking / DNS. Plus Linux or Container technologies.
What you'll get in return
Whatever you're looking for benefits wise can be offered here. You'll get a performance related bonus starting at 15% and up to 30% for exceptional performance. There's also a generous pension scheme, life assurance, 27 days' holiday, private medical insurance, training budget for Developers, paid overtime, a variety of share schemes and huge discounts, plus the option to opt into healthcare, dental and gym membership. Your hard work will be rewarded with the ultimate flexibility to perform your role as best as possible.
