Commercial & Legal Manager // UK, Europe, and Africa

As we continue to expand, our investment in our people is imperative to maintain their growth. We now require an accomplished Commercial and Legal Manager to lead our regional team to ensure that all regional client and contractor contracts are formed on a sound commercial and legal basis in accordance with NES Fircroft's internal procedures and our commercial risk principles.

This role will be based in the Northwest of the UK, as regular travel is required between our Manchester City Centre, Altrincham, and Warrington sites together with some international travel.

Day to day duties include the following:
Manage time and capability resources within the regional commercial team appropriately
Receiving risk analysis from members of team and make informed decisions within the permitted risk parameters
Assessing risk across the areas of the business serviced by regional team.
Maintain integrity of commercial risk mitigation
Manage regional commercial matters including appropriate allocation and escalation of tasks
Coach and guide on solutions
Maintain and develop credibility of commercial and legal team
Negotiation of contract terms and conditions with external clients, advising on contract interpretation and commercial risk to internal clients, producing contract documentation, researching, and advising on labour/employment law in foreign law jurisdictions, liaising with insurance brokers (via NES Fircroft's Insurance Officer)
Providing corporate and regional legal advice and support
Managing regional compliance and litigation

You will be able to present legal and commercial arguments in a coherent, logical, and authoritative manner such that the recipient feels confident in accepting the advice or recommendation even when it goes against their preferred outcome, to enable the business to make a balanced informed decision to bring value to the organisation, stakeholders, and peers
Provide advice and guidance to colleagues, building a reputation as a reliable source of Commercial and legal support. You will be comfortable being approached directly by all levels of the business for advice
Ability to build the trust of senior colleagues by consistently giving carefully thought-through , professional, up-to-date views, opinions
Observes, listens, questions, and challenges to ensure a full analysis of the risk and solutions available
Works closely with others who are involved in and impacted by the issue, obtaining their views, and involving them in developing the solution
Takes account of values, corporate governance and commercial risks in decision making and can influence and deliver the required objective commercial advice without manipulation
Keeps up with and anticipates emerging organisational and commercial issues and developments
Maintains a continuous learning approach, showing interest and curiosity in new ideas and opportunities

Maintains good knowledge of current best practice and legal developments. Brings best practice back to benefit the organisation

Makes effective decisions in the absence of complete information, but with a strong understanding of organisation priorities
About you...
You will have demonstrable experience within the recruitment industry and will either be a qualified Legal professional with 3+ years PQE or have a proved career history working with the legal and commercial recruitment industry with knowledge of IR35 and AWR.
Have a high level of analytical skills with excellent knowledge of employment and contract law
Experience of working in a pressured environment, ensuring the delivery of projects to timescales
You will have the ability to think through issues and respond quickly to manage workload,
Ability to assess commercial liability and risk and make recommendations as to the appropriate course of action
Ability to successfully carry out commercial negotiations with clients
Effective team manager, to lead and motivate a remotely located team
Ability to communicate effectively with wide variety of stake holders, both verbally and in writing
