Temp-to-Perm Teaching Assistant at a Specialist SEMH School in Wigan (WN2)

This school is based in Platt Bridge in Wigan and has a fantastic, friendly, and welcoming staffing team. They are hoping to add an experienced, like-minded teaching assistant to their team starting in September.
The school caters for children 11-16 who have, and are currently struggling with Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs and require specialist environments and additional support. The school provides this specialist environment through specialist facilities and specialist staff capable of providing a higher level of support, managing challenging behaviour and adapting learning to meet the needs of the students.

Staff are expected to be able to quickly build strong, trusting relationships with the students they work with which allows them to support students to aim for excellence and then celebrate their success. To do this, prospective staff must have a great work ethic, lots of personality, resilience, and fantastic communication skills to come and work with these children to support in their education and ultimately shape the students' futures.

The ideal Teaching Assistant will have:

Experience working with Children and Young People.
Experience with SEMH (preferred but not essential).
Experience managing Behaviours that Challenge (preferred but not essential).
Great communication skills.
The initiative, ability, and desire to creatively support students in lessons.
The ability to build great relationships with the staff and pupils.
A great work ethic.
