Overview

H9 Technical Recruitment are looking for an Operations Day Shift Team Leader in Rotherham area.

As an Operations Day Shift Team Leader, you will provide effective supervision of the operations teams to ensure compliance with health & safety, environmental and operational procedures of the biomass plant under all situations and in all conditions, whilst ensuring that effective performance is maintained.

You will provide technical supervision and assistance where necessary for the company and contract staff engaged in work on the plant.

Role & Responsibilities

Balancing plant risk against customer expectation to optimise commercial performance of the station and communicate this with the operations manager and direct the team accordingly.
Ensuring safe operation of the plant at all times within strict parameters as defined by the environmental permit.
Managing the shift team, applying performance targets, agreeing future objectives, communicating business issues by way of individual meetings and team briefings.
Application of operational, maintenance and safety systems and documentation for the plant incorporating relevant company standards, including carrying out the duties of Senior Authorised Person as per the site safety rules.
Acting as the manager of the permit office whilst on shift; ensuring that safe systems of work are adhered to at all times by own staff and external contractors and be responsible for issuing permits.
Supervising and deploying manpower to ensure safe, efficient operations within all operational procedures as well as in emergency situations.
Providing operational expert advice and support to successfully deliver improvement projects, change processes, and carry out 1st aid maintenance activities
Working with managers, engineers, and others to identify plant performance issues and areas for continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Experience

5+ years Thermal Power Plant Operational experience.
HNC level Engineering qualification preferred. ONC as a minimum.
Current knowledge of UK legislation relating to the operation of large boiler plant.
Demonstrates a background of identifying and implementing a methodology of continuous improvement in the workplace
Previous Power Plant mobilisation experience an advantage
