Legal/Commercial Manager - London

CLIENT

Linum Consult's client is an international infrastructure and engineering company, currently seeking a Legal/Commercial Manager to support its European subsidiaries. This role will be based in Central London.

RESPONSIBILITIES

* Delivering predominantly legal support as well as strategic commercial direction for international projects including water, hydropower, road, and rail

* Managing the preparation, negotiation, and execution of various high-value and strategic contracts

* Advising and supporting multidisciplinary teams across the business, providing sound commercial legal advice including drafting, reviewing, analysing and negotiating a wider range of agreements and legal documents

* Noting new or updated laws, regulations, and directives which could impact the company and its subsidiaries, conducting legal research and presenting the findings to the business

* Supporting internal governance and approval processes, including coordinating with compliance, risk, finance, and other internal stakeholders as appropriate

* Instructing and liaising with various external counsels to obtain, challenge, and finalise legal advice/opinions on various projects

* Leading and supervising the work of other legal workflow team members, including coaching, mentoring, and supervising direct reports

PROFILE

* Degree qualification in Law

* Around 10-15 years of experience as a UK or Common Law qualified solicitor

* Contracting works experience in infrastructure (rail, roads, airports, hydropower, water)

* Experience of working with the FIDIC White book of contracts

* Strong knowledge of setting up and establishing commercial procedures

* Strong contractual experience including contract terms and conditions

* Strong contract management through monthly reporting and analysis, costs to completion, and project audits

* Any foreign language skills would be an advantage

* The right to live and work in the UK
