We have a wonderful opportunity for a Consultant Neuropsychologist to join our caring and support team at Frenchay Brain Injury Rehabilitation Centre in Bristol. We specialise in the treatment of patients with complex physical and cognitive impairments, challenging behaviours and neuropsychiatric disorders resulting from a brain injury. We offer comprehensive assessment, rehabilitation and therapy.
As part of the Senior Management Team you will be responsible for the provision and delivery of inpatient neuropsychology services, You will manage a friendly and enthusiastic team of both clinical and neuropsychologists, assistant psychologists and university students. A particular interest in neuro-behavioural sequelae following brain injury would be beneficial, as would previous experience of working within a Level 1 inpatient neuro-rehabilitation setting.
We support our staff's development and student Psychologists too so there will be responsibility for teaching, training, research and development within the neuropsychology specialty and working with the local University Clinical Directors of Postgraduate Programs in Clinical Neuropsychology. You will provide supervision and support to your team and support your staff's applications and study on the QiCN postgraduate course.
As Head of Therapy you will:
* Have a Postdoctoral Qualification in Clinical Neuropsychology (QiCN)
* Registered with the HCPC
* Provide a neuropsychological service at a high level of clinical expertise, supporting and advising colleagues on all issues of clinical practice
* Formulate and implement plans for brain injury rehabilitation or management of service user's brain injury problems based on a multi-factorial neuropsychological understanding and current evidence-based best practice, taking the lead in very complex cases
* Develop guidelines, policies and pathways within our neuropsychology specialty
* Undertake professional line management of the psychology staff including student psychologists
* Facilitate and co-ordinate the efficient use of supervisory and training resources for the service
* Develop audit and clinical research within the psychology service and where appropriate work collaboratively with other MDT disciplines
