Job title: Part-time Trusts & Foundations Fundraiser
Reporting to: Trusts & Foundations Manager
Salary: £29,000 pro rata
Location: Homeworking with occasional travel for meetings
Hours: Up to 21 hours per week
The role
As a key member of the Trusts & Foundations Team, you will use your exceptional bid writing skills to create compelling applications for funding that help Shine deliver an ambitious programme of support for people with spina bifida and/ or hydrocephalus. In this exciting role, you will utilize your superb interpersonal skills to engage trusts, foundations and other funding bodies, building fruitful relationships that lead to long-term funding and support.
Key deliverables
Identify and maximise opportunities to raise unrestricted and restricted funds from trusts, foundations and other funding bodies
Plan, prepare and write compelling applications for funding
Build effective relationships with trusts, foundations and other funding bodies that help Shine secure long-term funding and support
Achieve income targets that support Shine's strategic service delivery goals
Keep accurate records on SalesForce CRM
With the Trusts & Foundations Manager, develop our thank you processes and donor stewardship programmes
Create inspiring reports and updates for donors that bring to life the impact of their support
Meet regular deadlines and manage your own workload
Requirements - Experience
Minimum 3 years' experience of trust fundraising and a demonstrable track record of securing 5 and 6 figure sums from trusts, foundations and other funding bodies
Experience of planning, preparing and writing high quality bids, proposals and funding applications
Experience of obtaining and managing significant partnerships with trusts and foundations including understanding their needs and developing highly personalised relationships
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience of using SalesForce CRM or similar
A sound understanding of trust fundraising 'best practice'
Excellent attention to detail
The ability to manage deadlines and priorities
Excellent keyboard/IT skills with knowledge of Word/Excel.
Knowledge of databases and data management including producing basic information and reports.
Experience of translating service needs and business plans into successful funding applications
Requirements - Personal Characteristics
The ability to work collaboratively with others, both internally and externally
Willingness to work flexibly in approach to work and/or work time requirements.
Confident telephone manner. And the ability to quickly build rapport and instil confidence in others
A methodical worker who enjoys following, refining and improving processes
