I am seeking an interim Strategic Financial Advisor for one of my key London based Local Authority clients for a 6 month assignment, starting ASAP!
Working as part of the Return on Investment team, which sits as part of the wider Finance & Governance directorate, you will be a newly qualified accountant (CIPFA, CIMA, ACCA, ACA) or 1-2 yr PQE, and will be flexible, hard working and committed to meeting the project timescales
As the strategic financial advisory, planning and support for the Climate Emergency team, your role will be very varied, and will include undertaking external research and analysis of potential funding sources/innovative ideas.
• 50% of the role will be expected to be a finance business partner
• 50% will be to provide analysis and research support to the Climate Emergency team
A bright, self starter who can work across both Finance and Climate Emergency teams, you will be expected to know the basics of budget control/month end processes, financial modelling plus be able to go and research new funding models (resident loans, grants, collective funds etc), new approaches to climate change (as steered by the Director of Climate Emergency) and be able to present ideas and analysis back to the service and finance management teams in a coherent way.
A background in Local Government is not essential, but a passion for climate change and the willingness to research and learn absolutely is.
The role will be a hybrid working role, with between 2-3 days in the office per week and the remainder at home, totalling 36 hours per week - the role is also inside of the scope of IR35.
