A Teaching Assistant is required within a popular Welsh medium Primary School in Cardiff to start from September. Teaching Personnel are seeking a flexible teaching assistant who would be a proactive member of the classroom and have excellent interpersonal skills. The position is to fill a gap in staffing, and it would be on-going until the end of the academic year, with an option for the role to become permanent. You do not have to have specific classroom experience however we are ideally looking for people who have previously coached sports, worked, or volunteered with children or adults with challenging behaviour and/ or special needs (SEN).
You will be working within the foundation phase, providing support, and encouraging academic progression for the pupils. You will need to be enthusiastic, friendly, and patient, both inside the classroom and outside the classroom, and be able to communicate confidently through the medium of Welsh. An adaptable and flexible approached is essential, as each day can be different. This is the perfect job if you are looking to build up your experience to go into teaching or a role working with children in the future.
The Teaching Assistant Must Have:
Enhanced DBS (Teaching Personnel can assist with the DBS application and EWC registration)
Registered with the education workforce council
Provide 2x professional references
Right to work in the UK

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
