An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the team at our before and after school club, caring for children from the age of 3 to 11 years old. The setting is looking to recruit an energetic and motivated Manager to run the setting daily.

This position requires the applicant to hold a level 3 or higher childcare qualification along with two years childcare experience.

The club is a privately owned business and is a separate organisation to the local schools,

Working Hours

7am - 9am and then 2:30 - 6:00pm. Monday to Friday - Term time only

(27.5 hours at the club - 2 .5 additional paid paperwork hours)

Main Responsibilities

Planning, and preparing activities. Delivering quality fun and stimulating play opportunities within a safe and caring environment. Setting up the play space and moving resources, tables and chairs.

Caring for the children daily and meeting their needs.

Safely taking the children to school after breakfast club and then collecting them from their classes for the after school club.

Monitoring and maintaining a healthy, safe and secure working environment.

Liaising with parents on a daily basis and maintaining a professional relationship with them.

Occasionally liaising with the school and continuing the strong existing links.

Liaising with the club Directors, passing on essential information when needed.

Providing support to members of staff and encouraging their professional development. Including carrying out regular Supervisions, and peer observations. Leading staff meetings and organising the agenda.

Maintaining files and folders, including children and staff records.

Following the settings policies and Keeping up to date with current government guidance and legislation.

Undertaking relevant training.

Supporting children at meal times and encouraging their independence.

Essential skills/qualities

Level 3 childcare qualification

At least two year experience in an early years setting or similar

Exceptional organisation skills

Effective communication skills

Desirable skills/qualities

First Aid qualification

Registered with the DBS update service

Safeguarding knowledge

SENCO knowledge

EYFS knowledge
