Car Park Operations Assistant

Reports to: GT Silver Zone Shift Manager


Oversee the safe custody of vehicles and car keys left by customers in Bristol Airport`s Silver Zone Car Parking facility. Provide support to manage the movement of vehicles by our valet parking team to ensure cars are ready for collection on time.


Ensure that all vehicles are pulled and prepared in a timely fashion for customer collection through checking pulled cars` registrations against the pulling sheet;
Prepare and deliver daily Valet Parking team briefings and update Valet Parkers` performance records;
Create a customer friendly and welcoming atmosphere by delivering consistently high standards of customer service to colleagues, customers and staff;
Ensure the accurate and timely maintenance of all records and documentation relating to the operation;
Collect customer keys from check in arrivals bins and prepare boxes with vehicle keys for relocation to blocking and storage areas;
Ensure Health and Safety of customers and employees by treating outside surfaces and walkways in readiness for bad weather, ensuring good visibility of the area and keeping operational areas clean and tidy;
Refuel, clean and drive company vehicles, in exceptional circumstances move customers vehicles if needed (e.g. when assisting with early return);
Allocate and distribute car wash vehicles to Vehicle Valet Company;
Maintain all portable equipment, including batteries, compressors and emergency lighting, ensuring these are charged and clean and report on equipment faults through appropriate channels;
Manage passenger and staff traffic, communicating with wardens and adjusting signage appropriately to direct customers to correct areas when required;
Manage the operational space in Drop Off and Pick Up areas to ensure that there are enough spaces available for customers arriving at the car park;
Provide basic vehicle assistance as required including pumping flat tyres and jump starts;
Check the speed of all vehicles in the operational and blocking area with a speed gun on a daily basis;
Sustain car park maintenance / housekeeping to ensure commercial availability of all Silver Zone operational and blocking area by checking signs for every blocking row and by ensuring that all the gates are closed;
Work with business partners to ensure high standards are set and maintained within the Operational and Blocking area;
Provide cover for absent colleagues as required for the smooth running of the operation;

Full UK or EU driving licence to cover manual and automatic vehicles
Good customer service skills with the ability to defuse and resolve difficult situations
IT Literate and competent in Microsoft Office
Good time management
Great communication skills both verbal and written with the ability to adapt communication style to meet the needs of the customer
Resilience under pressure dealing with groups, individuals or peak operations
Willingness to work flexibly on a 24/7 shift pattern including night shifts
Ability to travel to the Airport at times where public transport is not available
Ability to self-manage and take ownership and responsibility to complete multiple tasks
Experience of having worked in customer facing role; preferably in a pressurised environment


Experience of working in a diverse team
Previous experience of providing resourceful solutions whilst working in a fast paced and reactive environment
Basic knowledge of various car operating procedures
Good organisational skills
Reasonable knowledge and understanding of the regional area
