Fundraising Executive, known within the organisation as a Trusts Executive, with Charity and fundraising experience, strong writing skills and excellent interpersonal skills is required by the Philanthropy & Partnerships Directorate at Guide Dogs based in Reading, Berkshire.

SALARY: Starting from £20,599 per annum

JOB OVERVIEW

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a Fundraising Executive with Charity and fundraising experience, strong writing skills and excellent interpersonal skills.

The Fundraising Executive generates income through the implementation of the Trusts and Foundations strategy and annual plans to support the delivery of the Guide Dogs overall strategy.

This is an excellent entry into the world of fundraising and philanthropy and partnerships where the Fundraising Executive will coordinate and develop a small portfolio of small to medium sized trusts and foundations and generate and grow income from grant giving organisations.

DUTIES

Your duties and responsibilities as the Fundraising Executive will include:
  • Supporting the Trusts and Statutory team to generate income from the portfolio
  • Responsibility for coordinating and developing a portfolio of small to medium sized trusts and foundations
  • Meeting fundraising objectives and income targets
  • Responsible for generating and growing income from grant giving organisations and stewarding own pool of donors
  • Responsibility for approaching new and existing trusts and foundations ensuring exceptional donor care and stewardship
  • Regularly review feedback from donors and prospects to support future planning
  • Promote Guide Dogs to new and existing funding sources to engage and build robust relationships with charitable trusts
  • Implement the Trusts and Foundations strategy of developing relationships and growing the pool of prospects
  • Review and develop proposals and identify ways to increase income
  • Help match funding criteria to the right project(s)
  • Help ensure suitable approaches are made to donors and projects are matched with the most appropriate funder
  • Monitoring, tracking and evaluation
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date donor records on FETCH database to ensure effective stewardship, track donors and prospects in the pipeline, and income reporting

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
  • A-level educated or equivalent (QCF level 3 / SQCF levels 6-7)
  • Charity and fundraising experience
  • Demonstrable experience of networking and relationship building
  • Demonstrable experience of achieving or exceeding income targets
  • Experience of working in a team
  • Experience of telephone skills
  • Solid understanding of the principles of trust fundraising
  • Working knowledge of fundraising databases
  • Knowledge and experience of working with Microsoft Office software
  • Knowledge/ good understanding of project management
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate, both orally and in writing, at all levels
  • Strong writing skills and demonstrable creative skills
  • Persuasive, flexible, enthusiastic, well-organised
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Can demonstrate excellent attention to detail
  • Good time management and prioritising skills
  • Influencing skills
  • Eligibility to work in the UK
