IT Asset Manager

Duration - 3 Months +
Day Rate - £400 Pay per day
Location - York (On-site 2-3 days per week)
IR35 - OUTSIDE

Job details:

-This is a greenfield role, so candidates will need to have experience of establishing processes, policies and start looking at asset management tools and methodologies with us

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. Manage the IT asset portfolio with respect to risk, cost control, governance, compliance, and performance objectives.
2. Work with the Team to lead and develop and maintain company policies and processes related to Software & Licensing.
3. Work with the Team and Service Delivery Manager to ensure that policies and processes related to the management of hardware are in place and adhered to.
4. Raise, track, validate, manage and receipt software purchase orders as appropriate in line with company policy.
5. Develop and implement an IT Asset Lifecycle Strategy to cover the management of both hardware and software assets.
6. Serve as IT Asset Management subject matter expert, providing advice and guidance on asset management best practice both within IT Services and to other departments as appropriate.
7. Optimise the usage and cost of IT Software & Licence deployments and carry out internal audits on the software estate to ensure that licensing is aligned to use.
8. Carry out audits of the hardware estate to ensure that hardware information is correct and up to date.
9. Manage and support the polices, processes for acquisition, deployment, utilisation, tracking, security, final retirement, and disposal of IT assets along with the appropriate record keeping within the CMDB.
10. Implement and manage asset status reporting.
11. Work with the IT Services teams to ensure contract renewals and re-procurement exercises are planned in line with software licensing end dates.
12. Work with the Finance Business Partner to inform the capitalisation and depreciation of assets throughout their lifecycle.
13. Undertake any other duties defined by the Team Lead: ESO in conjunction with the post-holder.
14. Develop the technology roadmap with the Enterprise Architect to establish a CMDB
