Commercial Manager (Business Development/3PR)

An industry leading opportunity for a Commercial Manager to join a global engineering services joint venture business based in Bristol with a salary up to £55,000. This commercial management position has been created due to business growth & a new large-scale programme that has been awarded. The Commercial Manager will sit in a project commercial team, working with Business Development, with excellent progression opportunities into a Senior Commercial Manager position over the next few years.

Candidates will have previous experience within commercial specifically within an engineering or related environment, at commercial manager level, and be keen to progress in their career.

Role responsibilities of the Commercial Manager include:

As a Commercial Manager you will be part of a dedicated and diverse Commercial team. You will build relationships with our stakeholders across all areas of the business, customers and suppliers. You will:

Deliver excellent Commercial services to ensure business objectives are met and stakeholder interests are protected. In particular you will be accountable for the provision of effective and reliable Commercial services, including:
Supporting our Business Development Director to achieve our growth objectives;
Preparing and managing bid proposals;
Negotiating with all contracting parties;
Monitoring compliance with Contracts and Commercial Law;
Identifying and managing Commercial risks/issues in accordance with risk management policy, as a proactive participant in the risk management process;
Acting as the formal contractual interface with customers & suppliers;
Providing guidance on Commercial matters when consulted;
Implementing Commercial policy/procedures and contribute to and/or influence Commercial policies;
Communicating Contract rights/obligations providing visibility & awareness.
Ensure high levels of customer and supplier satisfaction with Commercial and contract performance and delivery.
Work without appreciable direction and in an ethical, productive, regulated, safe and risk managed work environment.

Person Specification of the Commercial Manager:

You will already have a breadth of fantastic Commercial experience. You will thrive when working with stakeholders across all levels coupled with your ability to truly understand our business. You will have strong communication skills.

You will also have:

Foundation Commercial competence including skills, experience and knowledge of procurement law/policy, contract law, anti-bribery, trade/export controls, and knowledge of different types of contract models;
Contract Management Commercial competence including skills, experience and knowledge of service delivery & performance management, supplier relationship management, contract administration, and risk management;
Digital skills including experience of relevant common business ICT tools including Microsoft Office, Teams and SharePoint
Achieved or working towards relevant Commercial professional accreditation/certification eg World Commerce & Contracting
