Job Description: IT Project Manager

Will be required to be in the Winchester office one day a fortnight
You will need a laptop with webcam and headphones for interview

Job Purpose:

To manage and successfully deliver large and often complex projects or programmes of work to fulfil organisational business requirements and support corporate and departmental IT strategy.

Main Responsibilities:

Manage and successfully deliver projects, ensuring in line with agreed standards, providing fit for purpose solutions within time, quality and budget constraints

Manage a programme or portfolio, ensuring in line with agreed standards, providing fit for purpose solutions within time, quality and budget constraints

Manage projects for a variety of customers and partners and often a range of projects concurrently

Identify any project risks that need escalating to IT Risk Board

Deliver project documentation and communications to a high standard

Provide expert information and advice on potential project approaches in response to customer/corporate requirements

Work with programme and portfolio managers, other project managers, technical leads and customers to ensure dependencies on other projects are identified and managed

Ensure projects reflect corporate strategic aims and priorities, deliver benefits and identify potential impacts for the organisation

Provide quality assurance and monitor performance of projects, providing reports to senior management/members as required

Carry out project reviews/health checks

Provide mentoring to less experienced staff
Person Specification:

You must be comfortable working within formal project governance processes
Must have delivered large projects end to end
Must be good at presenting to stakeholders by assessing how they come across
Ensure you can demonstrate what they have delivered and be able to give examples

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Extensive experience in a professional IT environment
Competence in managing others, including development and motivation
Strong competence in financial management
Significant skills and experience in project management
Effective communication skills at all levels, including oral, written, presentation, briefing and influencing others
Experienced in the preparation of reports for senior management
Able to establish effective working relationships with people at all levels
Creative and innovative and able to apply this to produce business relevant solutions
Self-motivated and committed to ongoing personal development

Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Experience

PRINCE2 Practitioner (or equivalent)
