Orbit is a fantastic business and one that's really going places.
Orbit was formed in 1967 with the aim of providing good-quality housing for people who would otherwise not be able to afford to buy their own home.
Over 50 years later, we are one of the leading housing providers in the UK. Our services have diversified, our housing portfolio has expanded, and our reputation as an innovator within our sector has grown. But one thing that has never changed. Our belief in people and what they can achieve.
Our Apprenticeship Programme
In our 15 month scheme, you'll be welcomed into a team at Orbit where you'll be supported by your line manager and colleagues as you learn on the job and get the chance to gain an AAT finance certification. Our Apprenticeship Programme will provide you with the opportunity to gain the skills, experience and qualifications you need to secure the job you want, whilst getting paid in full time employment. Although it is our intention to offer you a permanent role at the end of the scheme, Orbit cannot guarantee this, however, the experience and qualifications that you will have gained throughout your time with us will certainly equip you for success in securing a permanent role in your career.
You will also have the chance to work as a team with our other Apprentices and deliver your own project, having a real impact on the organisation. Our former Apprentices have delivered a wellbeing programme for our employees, whereas another Cohort implemented their own ideas on how we, as a business, can recruit, attract and retain the Generation Z workforce; both have proven to be a real success across the business
We enable people from every background to achieve their career ambitions, giving them the support, benefits, training and environment they need to thrive at work. You may have just left school, or college, or may be coming to us later on in life, looking to re-train in a new career.
Your role at Orbit
Reporting to the Transactional Services Manager, the role of the Finance Apprentice will be to assist the team in providing an excellent finance service to our customers. As previously mentioned, the scheme is a 15 month placement starting in September 2022. During this time you will gain a Level 3 Assistant Accountant Apprenticeship.
