Machine Shop Team Leader, Permanent position, Salary £35,000 + Benefits

Working day shift - Mon-Thurs 7:45am - 16:30pm, Fri 7:45am-12:45pm

This is a great opportunity to join a company who manufacture components for the MOD, nuclear, oil/gas sectors.

The successful applicant will need to have experience as a Team Leader/Supervisor on a Machine Shop Floor, as you'll need to know the necessary processes i.e. 5s, first line maintenance, practical problem solving.

The majority of the position will be to supervise a team of skilled machinists, answering any technical questions they may have. Ensuring the workshop is being run as efficiently as possible. Have materials, tools and programs prepared ready for the next job while machines are running.

Competent operation in programming and setting a variety of CNC lathe and mills, including their 5-axis machinery.

Ability to troubleshoot machinery issues, provide ideas for process improvements, read and understand engineering drawings.

Essential Requirements/Experience:

Hold a recognised qualification in Mechanical and / or Production Engineering or equivalent experience.
Minimum 2 years' experience supervising a team of CNC machinists.
CNC programming and setting experience (Fanuc and Mazak Controls).
Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment.
Computer literate - proficient on Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word.
Ability to work and make decisions under pressure.
Project Management skills.
