Leukaemia UK invests in world-class research to find kinder, more effective treatments for leukaemia and other blood cancers. We are seeking an experienced Legacy and In Memory Fundraising Manager, who is bright, ambitious and keen to drive our charity to the next level, who can develop in role to support our strategic objectives.

Following the implementation of a new income generation strategy in January 2022, the Individual Giving Fundraising team designs and delivers memorable fundraising experiences to raise over a million pounds from regular givers and turns one-time donors into lifetime supporters.

This role will contribute to this purpose by leading on the delivery of a strategy to grow Legacy and In Memory Giving. You will play a pivotal role in reaching our goal of raising £5m in 5 Years, of which £2m will be from Legacy and In Memory giving.

To be successful in this role you will be a hands-on strategic thinker who is highly organised in leading a project such as this - driving forward plans, maximising value, continuously improving ways of working, and innovating in response to need.

Your responsibilities will include:

Use Digital First thinking to identify opportunities for income growth, lead, contribute to and drive forwards cross organisational projects that impact on and improve the Individual Giving & Legacies programme.
Organise, administer and manage Legacy promotion events with the Charitable Team, ensuring events are well managed, smoothly run and booked in agreed timescales and communicated to all attendees.
Ensure Legacy and In Memory Fundraising activities are in compliance with key legal and statutory requirements including GDPR and charity regulatory bodies.
Use Digital First Thinking to promote Legacy and In Memory Giving, ensuring every supporter has the opportunity to consider leaving a gift to Leukaemia UK in their will. Design and promote ways for supporters to make In Memory donations that honour their loved one. To ensure all work is performed in a safe manner.
Liaise with Solicitors and other Will makers and be the first point of contact for all related enquiries.

Your experience and skills will include:

An excellent understanding of the legalities of the fundraising sector, particularly those that are relevant to Legacy and In Memory fundraising, along with a grasp on the wider landscape of the sector.
A track record of meeting financial targets with management experience of setting, monitoring and reforecasting on budgets.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to identify risks and opportunities and ensure these are understood and acted upon.
Demonstrable experience in leading and/or supporting innovation projects to develop products with a focus on income growth and supporter stewardship.
