Due to further expansion our client is looking for an experienced Team Leader to join the team at their busy depot in Longport, Stoke on Trent.

The role is still very much a hands on position and while leading from the front you will need to adhere to strict Health & Safety guidelines ensuring the team follow suit.

To be successful for this role you will need to from a similar heavy industry and importantly have a positive approach to manage the team of fitters on site.

The role as a Mechanical Team Leader

To ensure zero defects in the production
Delivering consistently high quality product from the team
Ensuring delivery deadlines are met
Implementing a continuous improvement culture
To hold scheduled 'toolbox talks' to the team to ensure effective communication, share best practice and raise standards
Adhere to and comply with the Company's Quality, Health and Safety and Environmental Policies at all times.
Comprehensive and hands on technical knowledge relating to specific team discipline
Prepare and write reports as required.
Measure team performance and undertake performance management as required
Responsible for future recruitment and selection requirements for team
Deputise for the Depot Manager during times of annual leave, absence.
Ensure that competence levels are maintained and attend any training courses required to maintain and improve delivery standards. Skills & Qualifications required to be successful in this Mechanical Production team leaders role

ONC, HNC or BTEC in Mechanical Enigneering or Apprenticeship or equivalent.
Previous experience in a supervisory or managerial role
Strong communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
Team player
Be a self- starter in order to achieve tasks and overcome problems as well as provide direction for others.
Encourage a high level of performance in self and others.
Benefits of this team leaders role:

Monday - Friday
Shift pattern 6am-2.30pm then 2pm-10.30pm
£35,000 - £40,000 depending on experience + shift pay 12.5%
7% matching pension
25 days holiday, plus bank holidays
