All About Us

Currie & Brown is looking for an international tax manager to join our group finance team in the UK. We are a leading international physical assets management and construction consultancy business, and the role plays a key part in the day-to-day business as well as an important element in more specific projects. The successful candidate will report to the group finance director, with a secondary reporting line to Currie & Brown's parent organisation's tax team. The position would suit someone wanting to step up into a broader international role.

All About The Role

Group-wide responsibilities will include:

Liaising with regional finance directors and their teams to ensure that local tax reporting requirements are being achieved; this will require regular challenge and dialogue to ensure that the local teams are aware of changes in local requirements and that the local teams fully understand and accept their responsibilities
Monitoring and reviewing group tax compliance processes and tax audits
Liaising with local and overseas tax authorities as required
Providing an internal tax advisory service to the international business in relation to bids, cross-border trading, employee mobility, acquisitions, etc
Advising on structure of new entities, UK and overseas
Co-ordinating UK and overseas tax advice, managing and liaising with external tax and other advisors
Assisting with the audit processes and year-end statutory accounts preparation
Ensuring compliance with the Criminal Finance Act 2017
Advising on and implementing corporate restructuring
Identifying tax planning opportunities to legally maximise tax efficiency and reduce tax risk
Supporting the Currie & Brown and wider group with the introduction of global minimum tax
Building relationships and interacting with key stakeholders
Advising the business on relevant changes to legislation, providing specific advice/training where necessary
Reporting to parent company on wider group issues

Compliance responsibilities will include:

Year-end tax provisioning for group reporting and individual UK statutory accounts and liaising with external auditors
Preparing and filing UK corporate tax returns with HMRC
Overseeing UK VAT compliance
Overseeing Irish VAT compliance
Handling compliance matters including PAYE, P11d and PSA for UK employees
Working closely with HR on payroll and other employee tax issues (UK and overseas)
Ensuring IR35 compliance with regard to sub-contractors
Ensuring CbCR, Master File and Local File compliance
Handling policies, recharges and documentation
All About You

Requirements:

ACA/CTA qualified preferably with a Top 20 firm
A minimum of two years' post-qualification experience plus at least two years' experience within the professional services industry
Exposure to overseas tax matters
Good accounting knowledge and a commercial approach
Ability to work autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team
Competent IT skills including Excel, Word and One Source or other tax software
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships throughout the group
Good organisational skills and ability to respond to tight deadlines
