D R Newitt are continuing to support a leading food manufacturer in Merseyside to find a new Procurement Manager to join their very fast paced site. They are a player in the global market looking to take over the industry.
Role Overview
The succesful individual will be responsible for the purchasing of all locally managed raw materials across multiple sites, contributing to the development of the regional and global purchasing strategies.
Responsibilities
* Responsible for the reduction of the raw material costs for the UK sites with a raw material spend of circa £8.5m
* Personally manage/ negotiate a spend estimated at £13m
* Exceptional communication regularly with business unit management, site supply chain teams and other site managers and discuss all purchasing relevant issues for all direct expenditure
* Drive contract negotiations and management, incorporating critical terms and cost delivery targets into negotiated agreements
* Stakeholder and supplier management, implementing supplier performance in proporting to contractual criteria
* Identify performance gaps with the supplier and generate action plans to close performance gaps
Key Candidate Competencies
* Proven people management and leadership experience
* Minimum 3-5 years procurement experience OR in a related skill field (Finance, Accounting, Technical)
* MCIPS, C.P.M., or equivalent preferred
* Strong SAP knowledge
* Strong negotiation and strategic procurement experience
