£19,117.64 - £21,381.36 (pro rata) dependent of experience
(FTE £22,571 - £24,920)

St Bede's and St Joseph's Catholic College is a co-educational school, founded by the merger of the two Catholic secondary schools in Bradford; the boys school St Bede's Catholic Grammar School and the girls school St Joseph's Catholic College.

The college opened in September 2014 and welcomed its new intake of 290 Year 7 students which increased the total of students to over 2000, including 425 in the 6th form St Benedict's. The college community follows the concepts of Ignite, Illuminate and Shine and is proud to keep these themes at the centre of all their teaching.

We are looking for a Pastoral Manager to take a central role in maintaining the highest standards of behaviour, discipline, presentation, progress, achievement and participation within the House; working with Scholastica, Ecclesia and Olympia leaders to support student academic, pastoral and social needs.

Key Responsibilities:

* Promote and support the Catholic values and aims of the College at all times.
* Exercise pastoral care of students (in accordance with individual care plans where appropriate), attend care meetings, or other meetings concerned with welfare where required and support students' emotional, cultural and intellectual development.
* Maintaining detailed student records, with particular attention to the confidentiality, privacy and sensitivity of issues.
* Managing student progress and participation data.
* Supervising students during non-timetabled time to ensure an orderly environment.
* Monitoring standards of cleanliness, tidiness, presentation, good repair and maintenance within the House area, referring issues to the site manager, Ignite or Scholastica.
* Ensuring that House displays are lively, engaging, informative, accurate and up-to-date.
* Provide first aid.

Assist House leaders and tutors:

* By following up on student absence and engaging parents fully in our mission for every student to achieve the highest possible attendance score.
* In prudent management of the House budget.
* To ensure that students who are falling behind in any subject are identified and supported.
* By preparing letters, reports and other documents.
* In maintaining House discipline and the inculcation of good manners and courtesy.

Required Skills, Experience and Knowledge:

* Qualified to NQF (National Qualification Framework) Level 3 level in relevant area or equivalent qualification equivalent experience.
* GCSE's or equivalent at Grade C or above Maths and English.
* Evidence of continuing professional learning including evidence of recent leadership and management development.
* Basic IT skills.
* Previous office clerical/administrative experience.
* Experience of working in a school or similar environment.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Approachable, courteous and able to present a positive image of the school to callers and visitors.
* Displays flexibility, adaptability, initiative.
* Thorough with attention to detail.
* Able to promote a sense of fun, enjoyment and achievement.
* Demonstrates emotional intelligence, self-awareness, courtesy and integrity.
