Cloud Engineering Manager - Outside IR35
A leading insurance company are looking for a Cloud Engineering Manager on an Outside IR35 6 month initial contract, primarily remote with occasional travel into London office.
Your role will be to lead empowered cloud infrastructure and security engineers owning the company cloud infrastructure and security posture. You will partner with the InfoSec team to define and implement Cloud security controls, ensure that cloud platforms are safe and secure, and guide the engineering teams through the cloud security journey.
*Work with the Cloud engineering team to design, build and support systems that are reliable, secure and operate efficient at scale.
*Build and maintain positive relationships with users and technical teams from across the business to identify and execute upon opportunities for collaboration.
*Take ownership of the technical delivery commitments of a team, and partner with the technical product manager to drive the roadmap and prioritisation of incoming work; balancing the demands of users, projects and continuous development of our platforms.
*Own problems from end-to-end, managing complexity, engaging directly with stakeholders to understand and minimise any impact to the business.
*Foster a culture of integrity, mutual respect, and collaborative decision-making.
*Help develop and evangelize DevSecOps and SRE best practices, techniques, and tools.
*A track record of running highly effective engineering teams.
*A good understanding of proactive and continuous assessment controls and associated tooling (e.g. Terraform Sentinel)
*Excellent Cloud knowledge in areas of networking, encryption, identity and access management, and automation
*Experience architecting, implementing, and designing cloud security capabilities in areas of IAM, endpoint security, network security, data protection and application security practices and environments within AWS.
*A mindset geared towards a fantastic end-to-end engineering experience supported by excellent tooling and automation
*Team player, 'can-do' attitude, strong interpersonal skills.
*Self-guided, resourceful, excellent communicator.
*Thorough knowledge and understanding of modern development and engineering best practices that promote process automation.
*Previous experience as a hands-on infrastructure or software engineer with a broad understanding of computer science fundamentals to understand the engineering work that is going on in your team.
*Enthusiasm to learn new technologies and work in a close-knit team to find new and better ways to serve the needs of the business.
*Good experience of AWS products including IAM, Lambda, GuardDuty, CloudTrail, VPC networking (DX, Transit Gateway, VPN, Peering), KMS, GuardDuty, and other security related services
