Finance Manager - Sole Role

Permanent Part time 3 days per week

Salary £45k -£60k pro rata depending on experience

Our Client is a fast paced design studio based in West London who are keen to make an impact and contribute from day one.

You will be reporting to the Directors and will be working closely with external accountants. You must have a proactive can-do attitude. The ideal person will have an excellent understanding of Sage and strong experience managing the day to day financial activities of a busy creative studio.

Responsible for the day to day financial management, producing financial reports and developing strategies based on financial research. Guiding the Directors and Senior Management Team in making sound business decisions in the long and short term alongside handling the basics of daily bookkeeping and financial administration.

Finance Manager Specification

They are looking for a highly organised, confident and competent individual who can do everything asked of them, showing superior mathematical skills; people management; solid communication skills, both written and verbal; deep understanding of business principles and practices; superb attention to detail and follow through on tasks. In addition having demonstrable skills across organisational planning; research; analytical and critical thinking; problem-solving; corporate taxation; multi-tasking; integrity, and honesty, alongside computer proficiency in Sage accounting and, Microsoft software.

Requirements of the Finance Manager:

* Excellent timekeeping

* Reliable and trustworthy - to be an ambassador for the company

* Presentable - fit in with the culture and ethos

* Professional approach and highly organised

* 7+ years finance experience

* Sage/Workbook knowledge advantageous

* Good technical knowledge

* Experience of working in a creative/marketing agency

* Qualified (or nearly qualified)

Finance Manager Job Duties:

* Monitor the day-to-day financial operations within the company, such as payroll, invoicing, and bookkeeping of all transactions on a real time basis.

* Work alongside Project Management (PM) team to track and approve purchases to client budgets via PO system, logging everything into PM software to operate an efficient supplier invoice system.

* Work with PM team to invoice work regularly to agreed invoicing schedules agreed by client / project, reporting against monthly targets, project profitability and handling client PO's via different vendor systems.

* Assist the onboarding of new clients, via vendor forms / details / platform sign ups

* Establish and run an efficient debtors system sharing client statements and ensuring outstanding debts are recovered and paid to agreed payment terms, escalating any issues to Directors for resolution.

* Oversee financial department, including any financial assistants and external accountants / payroll support

* Oversee any outside services for tax preparation, auditing, banking, investments, and other financial needs as necessary

* Managing use of currency accounts and to maximise currency gains, and minimise currency conversion losses

* Track the company's financial status and performance to identify areas for potential improvement

* Seek out methods for minimising financial risk to the company

* Provide real time insightful information and expectations to senior management and Directors, to aid long-term and short-term decision making

* Review financial data and prepare monthly management reports, including cash flow forecast, P&L, debtors, creditors and performance against targets.

* Present reports to any board members, external stakeholders, executives, and clients in formal meetings as directed.

* Stay up to date with technological advances and accounting software to be used for financial purposes

* Establish and maintain financial policies and procedures for the company

* Understand and adhere to UK financial regulations and legislation

* Research and analyse financial reports and market trends

* Approach the role with a tax efficient approach, utilising R&D allowances where appropriate
