Reed Accountancy and Finance are proud to be working with a well-established accountancy practice in the Norwich area seeking a Trainee Accountant to join their accounts team.

As part of a busy team in an exciting environment dealing with a variety of clients and industries, the Trainee Accountant will work closely with the other members of the accounts Outsource team to ensure all related tasks are effectively completed which will in turn contribute towards the efficiency of this well-established organisation.

The Trainee Accountant position itself entails the following in summary:

Brief Role Outline
  • Undertake bookkeeping tasks (bank reconciliations, purchase/sales invoices, etc) for clients
  • Assist with the preparation of quarterly VAT returns for clients and submit to Senior/Manager for review
  • Assist with the preparation of management accounts to support the team
  • Ability to prioritise and work to deadlines
  • Provide support to clients via telephone, email etc
  • Liaise with clients in a professional manner
  • Manage our client's accounts@ in-boxes, answering queries where necessary
  • Ensure electronic and physical client files are complete and maintained fully
  • Answering the telephone for the outsource team
  • Build positive relationships with clients in day to day work
  • Promote the services of the business to clients and potential clients
  • Understand the value of time and apply to tasks undertaken
  • Communicate confidently with others in the team
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues in order to meet the objectives of the business
  • Perform routine tasks independently
  • Contribute to team meetings and put forward ideas and feedback in order to improve ways of working
  • Undertake any other tasks that may be reasonably requested

Essential and Desirable Skills
  • Knowledge of Xero and/or Dext would be an advantage, a passion for cloud software is essential
  • Minimum entry requirements: 5 GCSEs, business or accountancy qualification (AAT level 3) preferred, but not a requirement

Salary, Hours and Benefits
  • £18000 - £22000 per year (Full-Time Equivalent)
  • 21 days annual leave + bank holidays
  • Core hours 9.30am - 4pm, 37.5 hours per week (Full-Time Equivalent) Part-Time or Full-Time
