Derivatives Banking/Lending Lawyer 3+ PQEYour new companyMy client are the law firm of one of the Big Four accountancy firms and they are looking for a Derivatives Banking/ Lending lawyer within their Banking and Finance practice area. You will be provided with the opportunity to help the firms' clients adopt a more strategic approach to global entity governance across their organisations.Your new roleDrafting, negotiating, reviewing and assessing a wide range of derivatives documents including OTC and exchange traded derivatives across a range of asset classes including fixed income, equities, rates and FX for buy and sell-side clients and related material contracts;Advising on Financial Services regulatory matters including IBOR Transition, IM phase 6 and other regulatory requirements as applicable to banks, insurers, funds and asset managers;Supporting clients in the negotiation and execution of a range of transactions and developing associated contract negotiation playbooks;Supporting clients to leverage technology enabled workflows to support contract preparation, negotiation and execution; andBusiness development, including over time building a network of referrers within the firm as well as developing direct client relationships.What you'll need to succeedQualified solicitor in England & Wales or equivalent common law jurisdiction;Excellent academic background;Experience of advising on ISDA, VM and IM CSA, Clearing and Futures, GMRA, GMSLA and related documentation for a range of Banking and Finance, Funds and broader Financial Services clients;Drafting, reviewing and negotiating associated legal documentation including master agreements, repo documentation and legal opinions;Strong knowledge of the derivatives regulatory space as it impacts on banks, insurers, funds and asset managers;Ability to meet tight deadlines and to thrive in a fast-paced environment;Ability to use initiative and a willingness to embrace innovation and continuous improvement;Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a team as and when required; andAbility to harness new technology to deliver better services, faster; andAbility to coach and manage junior team members and provide quality assurance and control.Excellent communication skills and a positive "can do" attitude - ability to achieve goals through teamwork, direct and indirect influence and collaborationGood technical legal skillsA keen ability to learn in a fast moving, innovative and technology enabled environment and a desire to be part of the movement to modernise the in-house delivery of legal services and advance the New Law Services practice.Knowledge of or previous experience in the Managed Legal Services industry or of working as an in-house legal counsel would be advantageous and looked on favourably.The successful candidate will be working with lawyers across the other UK offices and will be occasionally required to travel between offices.What you'll get in returnFlexible working options available.What you need to do nowIf you're interested in this role, click 'apply now' to forward an up-to-date copy of your CV, or call us now.If this job isn't quite right for you but you are looking for a new position, please contact us for a confidential discussion on your career.
