Be Bold Media is a strategic PR & communications consultancy delivering fantastic results for its regional, national and international clients.

We're growing rapidly with exciting expansion plans and we need talented, creative and dedicated people to join us on the journey.

On any given day, our diverse range of clients sees us dealing with big national and regional issues, responding to crises and revelling in being on the spot and on the ball. What we do is very often led by the national agenda and the daily news and backed by a great feel for the sectors and geographies we work in.

Our core business sees a focus on the below, along with a number of charity, third sector, education and leisure & hospitality clients:

  • Place marketing & economic development - inward investment, low carbon agenda, business support, innovation & visitor economy
  • Built environment - commercial property, residential development, large-scale infrastructure, sustainability
  • Public affairs - public sector and public sector/private sector/third sector partnerships, Government and EU-led campaigns, local authority media and crisis communications consultancy
  • B2B - agri-tech, food & drink, engineering, manufacturing, legal & finance, logistics & service sectors

We're looking for a PR Account Manager who will be:

  • A strategic thinker but also hands-on.

We don't stand on ceremony here. We are looking for someone who listens to what a client needs to achieve and then, working collaboratively with our small and brilliant team, comes up with the creative PR and digital campaign to get the required results. You will be part of the delivery team on accounts you manage.

  • A great story-teller who knows how to write for different audiences

You'll have worked as a journalist or as an in-house/agency PR professional for at least two to three years. You'll be able to create a 500 word thought leadership piece from a couple of bullet points and know how that translates to a successful social media post. Your copy is free from fluff.

  • Great with people - managing clients and internal teams

This is not just a client-facing role, we expect you to lead the client relationship. You'll work with other members of the team to deliver the PR campaigns, but it's your name on the tin. You'll be working with account execs and content creators - managing and mentoring other members of the delivery team.

  • Commercially aware, campaign-focused and digitally savvy

We don't do puff PR or vanity-led campaigns which look good but ultimately don't actually move the needle for the client - whether they want increased profits, channel shifts, an enhanced reputation or uptake of Covid jabs! You'll know why media coverage is equally good for profile AND SEO and you'll know what metrics to report on to demonstrate success.

  • A kind, considerate team player full of ideas and initiative

Be Bold's most important asset is our team of wonderful professionals. You'll be part of a working family which combines working from home with time in our fantastic new offices in rural Shropshire. We're wide open to new ideas, ways of working and this is a place where World Book Day costumes and new pets photos feature on a Teams channel alongside the nitty-gritty business stuff.

Ideally you'll have:
  • 2/3 + years' experience with at least a year gained in an agency/in-house environment and/or experience in journalism/news content production
  • Proven digital PR/marketing skills & social media know-how and content production experience which plays to the algorithm
  • Selling-in skills and be used to talking to media contacts with a great track-record of securing column inches and online views
  • Strong communication skills with exceptional organisational skills, and have experience of delivering multi-channel PR campaigns
  • A can-do attitude and be ready to be a core part of a small but busy, hard-working, multi-skilled team
  • Knowledge and experience of website CMS (like WordPress)
  • A great command of English, spelling and grammar
  • The personality to engage from shopfloor to boardroom
  • An interest in and knowledge of current affairs

What we offer:
  • The opportunity to work with regional, national and international clients on impactful PR and digital content campaigns
  • A chance to develop skills and your career within a growing company with ambitious expansion plans
  • Salary up to £30,000 based on skills and experience
  • Work schedule: We see this as a full or part-time role, but would prefer someone who could work at least 5-6 hours a day for at least four days of the week
  • Family friendly and flexible working arrangements
  • 25 days holiday and extra days for Christmas closing which don't have to come from your allocation (usually a minimum of three days, often more depending where it falls in the year!), plus bank holidays (another eight)
  • Hybrid working arrangement split between home and office
  • Training and development opportunities
  • Bonus scheme for new business wins and discretionary bonus
  • We'll buy you a bike if you'd like to travel to work on two wheels!
  • Based on a university campus in a modern, accessible building with it's own cafe/Costa Coffee
