A highly attractive Risk Management role with a market leading Corporate Markets service provider has arisen, due to continued sustained growth and ambitious forward-looking strategies within each of the organisation's current business lines.

This important role will be contributing to the continued development of the risk management framework, culture and practices ensuring they remain fit for purpose as the business continues to progress and develop rapidly. The role will be central to providing each of the allocated business lines and functions with dedicated and expert specialist support as they drive to deliver and continually develop an effective risk and control environment.

The standard of risk management achieved in the business is of key importance to the firm's commercial success and service offering to the market. As such, you should also be confident and comfortable supporting and representing the business to external stakeholders and being the subject of regular external oversight assessments and audits (both on-site and remotely). Operating in a dynamic, fast paced and constantly changing sector, you will have a background in mutual/ collective funds (preferably with a direct exposure to fund administration operations in a first line or second line oversight or assurance capacity). You will have a sound of general risk management practices and disciplines, including the development, production and delivery of risk registers, RCSA's, incident management processes and risk reporting methods. A good understanding of the UK and EU regulatory landscape will also be of significant benefit as you will be regularly working alongside or in collaboration with compliance colleagues and internal and external audit functions.

Working within an independent second line reporting to the Global Head of Risk and Compliance for the CM division, you will be comfortable with operating independently and managing numerous simultaneous initiatives and projects on a self-sufficient basis.

You will be the primary day to day Risk Management contact for the location(s) and functions under your remit and be comfortable delivering individual support and advice, designing and delivering group workshops and presentations and on occasion, offering independent assessment and challenge to the same business functions and its management team. The Global Senior Risk Manager will support the Head of Risk and Compliance, by implementing, monitoring and enhancing the risk framework in the business.

As part of the Risk and Compliance function, the Global Senior Risk Manager will provide an independent assessment of all risks pertaining to the Corporate Markets Business. The role holder will need to proactively communicate and engage at senior levels within the business to assist with identifying, analysing, mitigating, managing and monitoring the risks that arise.

The Global Senior Risk Manager will, on request, deputise for:

o the Head of Risk and Compliance, engaging with the Board of Directors as required; and

in each case, to assess the risk / reward balance in their business.

The role holder will be expected to actively collaborate with their peers to support the development of a leading Risk function.

Key Accountabilities and Main Responsibilities

  • Work with Heads of Functions, 1st and 2nd LoD to identify, analyse, mitigate, manage and monitor risks.
  • Lead efforts to identify, analyse, and assess proposals for newly identified risks within the business, including new products, variations in products and / or business acquisitions.
  • Play a leading role in defining and embedding a sustainable culture of risk awareness, which is consistent with Link Group's core values.
  • Acting as a Risk Management subject matter expert providing support, education and training to colleagues across the global organization, and at all levels, to improve the risk culture across the business.
  • Presenting risk and control framework reporting for the Operational Risk Committee and other forums as required, to illustrate how the current control environment is performing and to escalate risk issues to the relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure the Group Risk Framework is localised (where applicable) and implemented, including execution and monitoring of legislative and regulatory obligations.
  • Attendance at relevant governance fora, including quorate member of Risk and Compliance Forum and Risk representative at the IT and Information Security review meetings.
  • Compile, assess, and report risk information to management, the Risk and Compliance Forum the Group Board and Group Risk & Compliance, also assisting Corporate Markets to ensure that risk levels remain within the agreed risk appetite.
  • Development and review of Risk Management related policies and procedures to ensure they are sufficient to meet regulatory requirements and be proactive in identifying areas for control improvement.
  • Provide risk support to assigned 'projects', including new business and change initiatives.
  • Provide specialist risk management advice and risk-related training to individuals and groups of staff as required
  • Coordinate annual reviews and testing and, where necessary
  • Undertake risk assurance reviews in line the business requirements
  • Represent the Business with respect to Risk Management at any relevant regulatory, client (including prospective clients) or rating agency reviews or other inspections
  • Attendance at relevant industry events ensuring emerging issues and risks are identified and communicated to the team and, where appropriate, to business senior management
  • Comply with appropriate internal controls within area of responsibility

Experience & Personal Attributes

· Qualifications in Business, Commerce or a related field are desirable but not essential, combined with ongoing professional development, such as post-graduate or vocational study.

· In depth knowledge and experience of best practice risk management methodologies and emerging practice in financial services, including in relation to operational resilience; knowledge and experience of cyber security would be beneficial but is not required.

· An experienced and skilled communicator at all levels, who inspires confidence, influences and motivates others.

· A self -starter with sound judgment who is decisive and able to prioritise, with a track record of setting and achieving objectives.

· A progressive mind-set, which can clearly support the development of the Risk function, also including experience in the deployment of leading risk practices.

· Numerate, with a sound understanding of business models and a strong commercial acumen.

· Resilience, adaptability, energy, authenticity, and openness.

· Personal commitment to risk policies and the Group code of conduct, including a demonstrated pragmatic approach to risk management.

· High levels of problem-solving ability, with clear decision-making skills that can analyse complex information, in a way that drives resolution.

· Experience operating in a regulated/nonregulated environment.

· Initiative to propose solutions and to act independently with the confidence to effectively challenge the status quo.

· Highly developed ability to analyse and present data effectively
