We are seeking a mid level associate 3/4 years PQE to join our successful and growing team in London.

Responsibilities
  • Provide a high quality legal service to all Reed Smith clients in all aspects of area of funds and subscription finance
  • Manage transactions from start to finish, including due diligence and structuring exercises, preparing and negotiating key transaction documents and co-ordinating closing
  • Provide strategic corporate advice as required and co-ordinate advice from relevant overseas jurisdictions
  • Attend and represent Reed Smith at client meetings as required
  • Develop and maintain good client relationship skills, gaining clients' confidence and that of other professionals
  • Contribute to departmental precedents and know-how, including participation in relevant training sessions
  • Input and participate in pitch/panel presentations
  • Identify hot topics and support business development initiatives (including client presentations, webinars, social medial strategy) Your key skills and experience
  • A common law jurisdiction qualified lawyer with at least 5 years' post qualification experience with relevant experience in a well-regarded City firm;


Key Skills, Attributes and Experience
  • A UK qualified lawyer with 3 years+ years' post qualification experience with relevant experience in funds finance in a well-regarded City firm
  • Experience of leveraged and real estate finance or corporate lending transactions, but principally lender side LMA documents, is desirable
  • Very good understanding of English law security is essential
  • Intercreditor experience is advantageous
  • Ability to demonstrate a high degree of sector knowledge and commercial awareness
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and drafting skills, with the ability to communicate clearly to clients, external counsel and other transaction parties
  • Self-confident, proactive, pragmatic approach to tasks and projects with the ability to take the initiative to drive transactions towards completion;
  • Highly enthusiastic and self-motivated
  • Ability to interact and build relationships with people at all levels
  • Ability to work well in both a team and individually
  • Ability to interact and build relationships with people at all levels
  • Desire to be proactively involved in business development and marketing with a view to handling networking and client contact from the outset
  • Commitment to excellent client service and the highest professional conduct
  • Ability to network and handle client contact from the outset;
  • Ability to delegate to more junior team members, such as trainees and paralegals, as appropriate;
  • Enthusiasm for firm-wide initiatives, including volunteering and pro bono projects;
  • Effective time management and a solid understanding of how a law firm works as a business.
