An opportunity has arisen for a Reporting Accountant to join us at Express Engineering, an Oil & Gas equipment manufacturer based in the North East of England. With nearly 50 years of experience in machining and assembling critical subsea components and systems, we are a market leader in the specialised products we produce. This is a fantastic time to join us at Express Engineer. In recent years we have delivered strong growth and now employ over 200 people at our Gateshead site.

The main duties of the role will include:

* Maintaining a fully operational fixed asset register, including monthly depreciation, additions, disposals and CAPEX reviews

* Reconciliation of order book on a weekly basis and maintaining a quote summary analysis

* Assisting with the maintenance of the company holiday calendar and preparation of the weekly wages

* Regular profit and loss analysis

* Completion of daily and weekly hours analysis

* Calculation and issue of efficiency and utilisation reporting

* Supporting the purchase ledger manager with purchasing queries

* Ad hoc support to the wider finance team that may be required

The role will develop to include:

* Preparation of monthly VAT returns and completion of all HMRC submissions

* Preparation and review of prepayments on a monthly basis

* Posting of journals

* Preparation of invoices to assist with coverage of sales ledger activities

As with all positions, due to the nature and varying demands of our business, the responsibilities and tasks are not limited to this overview and may change to meet future demands.

To be successful in this Reporting Accountant role at Express Engineering, you will be:

* A professional and confident individual with a desire to learn

* Proactive and highly organised, able to work independently

* Commercially focussed with a positive attitude

* An accountancy background is preferred, AAT Qualification or equivalent may be provided if necessary

* A strong basic knowledge of Excel is essential
