The company and role overview

This is a rare temporary opportunity to join a growing business and process all things payroll based in West Lothian. This exciting opportunity offers the chance to gain payroll experience in a new field for a confident an experainced payroller for a 10 - 12 month contract.

The payroll is processed manually for up to 300 employees monthly including alot of shift allowences and bonus'! A high level of attention to detail is required to ensure accuracy and ensure all records and systems are always kept up to date. As well as own the full payroll process, maintain, and update all database and systems.


Own the full 300 employee payroll and benefits process including manually processing, acting as a main point of contact to employees and Line Managers across the company
Accurately complete the end-to-end processing of payrolls and benefits across the company, including reporting and reconciliation activities
Act as the main point of contact for employee queries relating to payroll and benefits
Ensure attention to detail and an accurate service is always provided to all employees
Maintain the payroll and benefits process, ensuring all are documented to a high standard, identifying possible improvements, and making recommendations for change
Undertake the administration of all benefits on a day-to-day basis and manage the relationship with external benefit providers, including annual renewals
Ensuring timely processing of employee documentation including but not limited to pay slips/P45/P60
Collate and provide relevant metrics as and when required
Working within the audit and payroll procedures, ensuring to streamline current processes
Providing Pensions details for all employees on time to the company Pensions provider monthly
Act as a main point of contact for all payroll, benefits, and employee queries
As this is an in-depth payroll position, an understanding of shift patterns, work and payment structures is essential

Experience and Skillset required

Excellent Microsoft Office, particularly Word / Excel
Good working knowledge of payroll systems including SAGE and SD Workx
Personal organisation: multi-tasker, committed to delivery, experience of working to changing deadlines / priorities, strong eye for detail and excellent administrative experience
Excellent communication skills, with ability to communicate at all levels and build lasting internal and external relationships
Professional attitude with ability process / handle confidential and sensitive information in line with data protection legislation
Ability to manage own workload, using initiative
Keen self-starter with open attitude to new tasks / challenges
Building excellent internal and external relationships with employees, management and
Experience working within payroll is essential to being successful in
Experience of working with a shift-based business
Experienced in the administration and management of benefits
Awareness of employment law and employment tax legislation
