Using software to help the local community!
When I say this business is lovely, I'm not just being fluffy- I really mean it. They are a team of 30 ish legends who have all come together to build platforms which allow citizens to engage with the government.
They have been of paramount importance during the Coronavirus outbreak and have helped thousands of people communicate with those in need. Aside from that, they do SO much more. Their platform allows a digital democracy in the country- it makes improvements more accessible, helps policies change that need to change, and helps to create a more united country where everyone's voices are heard! Whoop!
Due to business growth, they are now looking for a bright, talented (but not SUPER experienced) human who has a keen eye for both design and basic web development.
Day to day, they're looking for someone to become their main Web Developer for their primary website, where you will turn design into web pages, undertake UX and UI Design for various screens, and ensure design consistency is maintained, in both Design and Development. Alongside this, you'll be responsible for ensuring the working acccessability of the website and page performance, and being aware of site traffic patterns.
I want to reiterate that you don't need to have loads of experience, as training will be provided, but a basic understanding of Design and Development will be needed!
Experience you'll ideally need (if you don't tick every box please still apply)
Some experience in a Design/Development role, perhaps you've done a bootcamp and then had 6 months commercial experience, or you've done 1 year in a commercial role
Wordpress (minimal but would be useful) or experience with other CMS
Experience with Figma
Excellent communication and literacy skillsThere are LOADS of paths for career progressing and development over time here! So if you're fresh to the design/development industry, this could be a perfect step into this world where over time you can be trained fully on the platform and progress into a more senior role.
They have an office space in Bristol however you are welcome to work fully remote. They invest heavily in home working setups. Along with this, culture is REALLY important to them- they are a sociable bunch and they value work life balance. This is a company where everyone is valuable, they are still quite small and don't want to grow massively and lose their close-knit culture.
If this sounds like you, please apply and I'll be in touch
