Registered Mental Health Nurse NHS Block Booking
Hays are actively recruiting for a Registered Mental Health Nurse for Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Trust to take on ad hoc or block booking shifts. The Trust specialises in secure, perinatal, inpatient and community mental health services, including services for children and young people and patients with learning disabilities. LSCFT covers the whole of the county across more than 400 sites.
I am looking for Band 5 Registered Mental Health Nurse for ad-hoc and block booking shifts at Kentmere Unit in Kendal.
Kentmere is a small mental health unit with 12 beds, one of which is for the management of patients undergoing an alcohol detoxification programme; this is arranged through the UNITY service (the drug and alcohol service provider in Cumbria).
Kentmere is a small mental health unit which offers short term recovery based care, focused to meet the needs of individuals. Enabling people to return to their communities to maintain their independence and previous level of functioning wherever possible is at the heart of what we do. This can include us providing support with education, employment and housing.
The unit also provides a safe and supportive environment for the management of patients undergoing an alcohol detoxification programme; this is arranged through the service of UNITY (the drug and alcohol service provider in Cumbria) who we work closely with to enable an individual to successfully achieve their own goals.
JOB TITLE: Mental Health Nurse
HOURS: Various (Depending on Availability) Mixture of Days and Nights
DEPARTMENT: Adult Mental Health
LOCATION: Westmorland General Hospital, LA9 7RG
REPORTS TO: Ward Manager
As a Mental Health Nurse, you will be responsible for the assessment of needs, planning, implementation, and evaluation of programmes of care for clients admitted on the ward.
The post holder will lead a team of registered nurses and support workers in the delivery of mental health care. You will promote the interests of service users and ensure that delegated nursing care is effectively implemented in a safe manner.
The post holder will exercise professional accountability and responsibility using professional skills, knowledge and expertise in changing environments, across professional boundaries and in unfamiliar situations.
The post holder will use research, audit, enquiry and scholarship to plan, implement and evaluate concepts and strategies leading to improvements in care.
As well as the above duties, you will also be required to carry out duties such as
Being shift coordinator, nurse in charge
Admissions and discharges.
