A high profile healthcare organisation we are supporting, is in need of an Interim Service Manager for Head & Neck. They are an Acute NHS Trust in the East of England and anticipate that the role will be for up to 3 months.
Candidates must have significant experience both at this level and have managed Head & Neck or Surgery services within Acute Provider NHS Trusts. The Trust are looking for someone who can hit the ground running.
This is an interim role that falls under the Workforce Alliance Framework and should be expected to be remunerated at c£35 ph.
Key responsibilities will include:
Lead the effective and efficient day to day operational delivery of services, including the delivery of Key Performance and Quality Indicators such as RTT, Access and Cancer targets;
Support the development of and management of resources to deliver Directorate and CBU specific performance targets required by the Trust;
Working in collaboration with clinical leads manage effective clinical and theatre utilization and look to support recovery plans post covid;
Work in collaboration to produce accurate, high quality business cases for service developments, taking into account activity and income projection;
Ensure patient safety and the provision of quality care is at the core of service delivery and planning, leading on management complaint management;
Manage sickness, disciplinary and performance issues for direct reports in line with Trust policies and support Clinical Leads in the same for medical staff;
Participate in the Senior Manager on Call (SMOC) rota and the bed capacity rota for the organisation.
The ideal candidate will have:
Relevant first degree, equivalent professional qualification or suitable experience;
Proven experience in an Operational management role within an Acute healthcare setting;
Credible track record of managing Head & Neck or Surgery services;
Able to influence, negotiate and persuade;
Ability to work within and across teams to meet project demands;
Experience of managing a multidisciplinary team and ability to build high performance teams;
Experience of budget and staff management.
