Teaching Assistant
Top Job Recruitment are working in partnership with a new provider for 8 - 18 years old pupils with Special Educational Needs in Stottesdon.
The school is fairly small and accommodates for up to 12 pupils with severe complexity of needs, primarily learning disabilities. This position is Full -Time however we are open to speaking with Part -Time candidates.
Your main duties will include:
Supporting the children alongside colleagues in the classroom, during break periods and at lunchtimes
Helping prepare for lessons
Keeping an up-to-date knowledge of each student's stage of development regarding assessment, communication
Supporting the Class Teacher in planning and preparing for educational visits and school journeys and accompanying the young people on such visits
Working with children 1:1
Managing heightened behaviors
Celebrating success and being a part of therapy sessions
Hours will be within school hours
About you:
The successful candidate will have:
Experience in supporting either adults or children
A Full UK Driving License and own car - due to the location of the school
Ability to create and maintain nurturing relationships with young people
A flexible approach and a high level of creativity
