Activity Support Assistant

Role location: Oldham, Greater Manchester

Starting date: Immediate

Salary: £1,350-£1,600

Monday-Friday 8:30am-3:30pm

We are seeking to recruit a highly committed, motivated, and child-centred activity support assistant to work in one of our busy and thriving special educational needs schools.

Empowering Learning are working with a SEND / SEMH school within Oldham. The school provides outstanding schooling for children with a range of complex educational needs. Each young person's set of needs requires a unique approach. Our teachers work alongside the children to help support and progress their individual capabilities into academic success, as part of a holistic and uniquely attentive educational strategy - and all of this from a setting that is truly inspiring to both pupils and teachers.

Our Oldham school requires an activity support assistant who is an excellent team player, can work successfully with young people with challenging behaviour, has high expectations of others and has the ability to work on their own initiative.

We are looking for someone with:

Experience of working with children/young people

The ability to communicate effectively with children and staff members.

Our successful candidate will provide supervision, care, interaction, and activities to our school children. This will involve organising and supporting pupils with a range of indoor and outdoor activities. You will be an outstanding role model to our children, demonstrating our school values.

You will also encourage positive behaviour through implementation of school's behaviour policies and practice and dealing with incidents as directed.
