We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Risk Management and Governance Officer who is ready for a new and exciting challenge to join our wider Governance, Risk and Compliance Team.

You will be a support in the first line of defence in ensuring its risk management and governance arrangements are fit for purpose. You'll also have the unique opportunity of being party to "big picture" discussions, as well as drilling down into individual policies, processes and frameworks to ensure everything works in tandem to achieve goals and objectives.

Main responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

Risk Management
  • To support the business areas in ensuring risk management and governance arrangements are undertaken as required
  • Acting in an advisory capacity to help risk owners mitigate their risks for the business
  • Managing the process of identification, assessment, resolution and escalation of identified risks through the Governance structure
  • The opportunity to focus your risk management experience towards certain areas of the business risk universe and become an Internal specialist.

Governance
  • Supporting and engaging with key stakeholders to execute the company policy and process frameworks
  • Managing and enhancing our Governance, Risk and Compliance system to support the business objectives
  • Supporting the Head of Risk and Governance & Society Secretary with Board arrangements and Board Committee governance requirements
  • Secretarial duties for Executive and Management committees, including agenda setting, action-tracking, minute-taking and the co-ordination and distribution of papers

To be the successful Risk Management & Governance Officer, you will:
  • Have an infectious attitude, you'll believe in the Society and what we are trying to achieve via our values
  • Like to interact with people - you'll be here to support the entire business, including the Board. You'll be personable, approachable and helpful
  • Be relentless - there are many tasks we do that require someone who gets a buzz from pushing things over the finish line
  • Have excellent written communication skills - our minutes are a formal record for the key decisions we make - they need to be written well!
  • Eager to develop your knowledge. We like to continually enhance our skills here
  • Relevant experience isn't essential but would be advantageous.

In return, you will be offered:
  • Salary depended on experience and lots of opportunity to develop your skills
  • Basic holiday of 28 days + Bank Holidays + Moments that matter days (think birthdays, weddings + time off for getting the keys to a new house or welcoming a grandchild!)
  • Pension contribution of up to 8% of salary
  • Life assurance 4 x salary
  • Full Private Medical Insurance
  • Healthcare plan covering some of those day-to-day health bills like your dental and optical bills
  • And that's not all!
