What is the Role?
Our client a new and forward thinking, dynamic law firm specialising in Litigation are currently looking for a Senior Solicitor to lead and train a team of solicitors and paralegals.In the role, you will act as both a subject matter expert in the area of financial claims, manage a team of solicitors and paralegals and deliver training to teams across advocacy. Reporting directly into the Legal Director, you will be an enthusiastic, hardworking, outgoing, and positive Senior Solicitor with 5 years PQE.

Your day-to-day activities will include:
- Acting as an SME both with regard to the claims process, associated regulatory requirements and advocacy
- Providing legal oversight of the Solicitor team, who are managing teams of paralegals working on high volume financial claims, in accordance with SRA guidelines
- Leading Paralegals on Advocacy training, preparing material and content to deliver training in both legal and non-legal processes
- Overseeing paralegal recruitment and interviewing new solicitors to the project as well as onboarding and training of new hires
- Reviewing, amending, and creating training materials
- Drafting articles on new cases and communicating these effectively to the project
- Ensuring that processes and policies from all parties are implemented and followed and work with the Legal Director to resolve any issues
- Advising Solicitors on acting as an advocate on behalf of clients; both written and verbal and attending hearings
- Advising on with various discretionary elements of the process such as settlement quantum
- Promoting the services of the organisation to relevant markets by regularly contributing to business development and actively contributing to the development of precedents and the claims process
What knowledge, skills and experience we need
- Qualified solicitor with a current practising certificate
- Ability to manage and train people within a target driven fast-paced automated environment where the business is driven by KPIs
- Good academic background, preferably at least a 2:1 degree or equivalent and 5 years PQE in professional negligence or relevant commercial litigation discipline (claimant-side preferred)
- Experience of managing a team processing a high-volume low value caseload through to civil court
- Demonstratable experience training groups of people with the ability to adapt to different group dynamics
- Experience devising, developing, and delivering training content
- A genuine desire to progress your career in this area of law and a professional approach with the drive and ambition to achieve targets through delegation
- Proven ability to communicate accurately, clearly, and concisely, both verbally and in writing with a wide range of clients
- High level of numeracy and experience of working with a variety of IT packages (Case Management Systems (Proclaim), MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
