Mental Health Nurse Nursing Agency RMN NHS

Hays are actively recruiting for a Registered Mental Health Nurse for Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Trust to take on ad hoc or block booking shifts. The Trust specialises in secure, perinatal, inpatient and community mental health services, including services for children and young people and patients with learning disabilities. LSCFT covers the whole of the county across more than 400 sites.

I am looking for Band 5/6/7 Registered Mental Health Nurse for ad-hoc and block booking shifts at The Harbour in Blackpool.

The in-patient units in the Harbour consist of

4 x 18 bedded adult functional wards (2 male & 2 female) There is a design solution to allow for flexibility in use of beds between the male and female wards (swing beds)
2 x 18 bedded advanced care wards (1 male & 1 female)
2 x 15 bedded dementia wards (1 male & 1 female)
2 x 8 bedded psychiatric intensive care unit (PICU) (1 male & 1 female)

JOB TITLE: Mental Health Nurse
BAND: 5/6/7
HOURS: Various (Depending on Availability)
DEPARTMENT: Adult Mental Health
LOCATION: The Harbour
REPORTS TO: Ward Manager

As a Mental Health Nurse, you will be responsible for the assessment of needs, planning, implementation, and evaluation of programmes of care for clients admitted on the ward.

The post holder will lead a team of registered nurses and support workers in the delivery of mental health care. You will promote the interests of service users and ensure that delegated nursing care is effectively implemented in a safe manner.

The post holder will exercise professional accountability and responsibility using professional skills, knowledge and expertise in changing environments, across professional boundaries and in unfamiliar situations.

The post holder will use research, audit, enquiry and scholarship to plan, implement and evaluate concepts and strategies leading to improvements in care.

As well as the above duties, you will also be required to carry out duties such as

Being shift coordinator, nurse in charge
Administering medication,
Admissions and discharges.
